Charlton Athletic: Fans react to Andre Green’s Twitter post after scoring

A number of Charlton Athletic fans flocked to Twitter to leave their positive messages for Andre Green, despite witnessing their side fall to a 2-1 defeat against Preston North End.
The game at Deepdale proved to be an encounter that had former players score against the previous employers with the Aston Villa loanee opening his account for the club he joined just six months prior.
Josh Harrop levelled things up for the hosts, however former Addick Patrick Bauer put the Londoners to the sword when he hit home shortly after the half-time interval. The defeat meant Lee Bowyer’s side would remain five points adrift of the relegation spots but a further four behind Birmingham City – the club placed just above them in the Championship table (BBC).
Upon scoring his first goal for Charlton, Green took to Twitter to share a message with the fans and reveal his mixed emotions from the game. Of course, it would be no real surprise to learn that he was delighted to open his account for The Valley outfit, whilst it would not be a shock to understand that he was disappointed with the result against one of his previous employers.

However, fans took to his message in their numbers to leave a message of support and praised the 21-year-old for his contribution, with many hoping it was just a sign of things to come in the future. One supporter went as far to say that he was their best player on the pitch on the day.
Here are just some of their reactions to Green’s message…
You were probably the best out there today, Andre. Delighted you’re off the mark, first of many hopefully.🙌🏼🔥
