Charlton Athletic: Fans react to Pratley extension

Many Charlton fans have responded on Twitter to the announcement that Darren Pratley has signed a new contract at The Valley.

The club announced that Pratley has signed a one-year extension at the club, meaning that his new contract will expire in June 2021.

Pratley, 34, joined the Addicks last summer on a two-year contract and was a key part in the club getting promoted to the Championship again.

The seasoned midfielder has a vast amount of experience at this level. He has played a remarkable 252 Championship games, scoring 31 goals and assisting 21 (TransferMarkt), playing most notably for Swansea and Bolton.

In his Charlton career, he has played 34 games for Charlton, chipping in with four goals for the club.

Indeed, his most important say at the club would surely have to be his equaliser in the play-off semi-final versus Doncaster Rovers. His side were 4-3 down on aggregate in extra-time and his all-important goal was enough to take the game to penalties, which of course they won.

So far this season he has featured in every league game, starting three and coming on in one.

Charlton fans seem pretty delighted with this deal. Many have responded on Twitter sharing their delight; with a few calling the player underrated, while one fan even called him Sergio Busquets.
