Charlton Athletic return to The Valley this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship as the Addicks look to get themselves back into some sort of form for the festive period.
The club has been struck with a number of injuries in recent weeks and that has seen form suffer, with them losing a fair amount of the momentum that they built up at the start of the campaign.
Even so, they will feel as though they can get a result this weekend against a Cardiff side under new management in the shape of Neil Harris.
To do so, they are going to have to do things without a glut of players, with Lee Bowyer admitting that he will not fill his bench for the match this weekend with kids.
Naturally, this has got fans talking on social media about the decision from their manager, so let’s take a look at what has been said:
Looks like Lee is playing politics. Unfilled bench for a game on Sky will draw attention to the ownership problems we still have.

Daft from Lee. Youngsters can thrive in adversity.

He’s making a point to RD, give me funds to strengthen

Surely just having another body on there is still better than none?

People not realising what he’s doing? Game live on TV he’s making a point to the owner that he needs backing to strengthen the side

Bit odd, why not give them some matchday experience even if he has no intention of using them?

Still think we’ll win this one
