Frank Lampard, on the whole, has enjoyed a positive first season in management with Derby County. His impressive runs in both domestic cups have caught the eye, although recently things haven’t been quite so enjoyable. Last night saw the Rams fall to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of their fiercest rivals Nottingham Forest, and the fans were fuming.
Frank Lampard urged his team to keep fighting after a difficult night at the City Ground…

Going into the game, the Derby fans knew that a win at the City Ground would put them level with Forest on all-time wins in this fixture, but it was always going to be a tough ask given that the Rams’ last win away from home in this tie came way back in September 2012. Since then the sides have met five times at the City Ground with a Derby win, and last night saw that run extend to six.
However, the travelling supporters couldn’t help but take a pop at their gaffer after the game. The Chelsea legend was out-thought by his opposite number, the much more experienced Martin O’Neill, and the fans will be desperate for a turn in form now. Lampard’s side has won just once in their last six games, dropping out of the top six. A playoff place will be the bare minimum that the fans expect from Lampard, and if he can’t deliver that then they’ll be more angry words from the fans.
You can read the frustrated Rams’ messages for Lampard here:
He's going to be one of those 'blame everyone else but himself' type of managers. He was out-thought tonight, very naive and incapable of turning it round.

Where’s the passion Frank?

The Rams have mostly been delighted with Lampard’s work this season, although if he doesn’t turn around their recent miserable form then there may be some calls for his head by May.
