It’s been a pretty lacklustre season so far for Derby County with them struggling to continue on from last year’s play-off final making effort.
The Rams lost some top players during the summer after that defeat, of course, whilst Frank Lampard also left the club for Chelsea.
Phillip Cocu has been in charge for the first half of this season, then, and though there have been some positive signs, it’s also been a campaign that’s largely disappointed and underwhelmed.
The Rams are unlikely to be considering his job status at the moment, of course, as he seems a manager that does have a longer-term plan but some fans of the club have used a recent clip of Steve McClaren to launch a case for him coming back for a third time.
McClaren was chatting about the late Jim Smith via the club’s Twitter account when Rams fans took the opportunity to discuss the prospect of part three under McClaren:

Love this. We should have stuck with Steve McLaren the second time.
He knew the problems that needed sorting.
Highlight is the 5 second appearance of Roy MacFarland.
