Derby’s weekend sacking of Steve McClaren has been a hot topic in the Transfer Tavern and news from HITC has been greeted eagerly by Rams supporters over in their booth, with their club supposedly hot on the tail of Reading technical director Brian Tevreden.
The Pride Park outfit are looking for a new staff after dispensing with the former England manager, assistant coach Chris Powell and their own technical director Chris Evans on Sunday, which will prompt a behind the scenes reshuffle.
Derby are keen to put new plans in place and HITC claim that Dutchman Tevreden has impressed them within his current role at Reading.
Starting as head of international football and development with the Royals, the 35-year-old was quickly promoted to replace Nick Hammond, who left to join West Brom, and has made a big impact in Berkshire – he played a vital role in luring Jaap Stam to the Madejski Stadium as manager of the first-team.
It remains to be seen if he will be tempted by the Rams if they make a concrete approach.
Was sacking McClaren the right choice for Derby?
