Derby County failed to keep up their early-season form as they now find themselves just two points inside the play-off places at this moment in time.
The Rams will be desperate to seek improvements under Frank Lampard from here on in until the end of the season, as a play-off place is far from confirmed with the teams below them piling on the pressure.
Lampard hasn’t been at the club for very long but he has already made one of their best signings in recent years by securing a loan move for Harry Wilson back in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, the Wales international has really come on leaps and bounds at Pride Park, with 11 goals to his name at this moment in time, which includes a number of wonder strikes. He has already played a monumental part in their promotion push and he will continue to do so in the second half of the season.
But, with things not exactly going the Rams’ way in recent times, perhaps they can go one better this month.
Ryan Christie is a player who could have a huge impact at Pride Park, both now and in the future. The Scotland international has been capped five times and has firmly established himself as a vital part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad at Celtic Park, with seven goals and five assists to his name at this moment in time.
While he is a big part of Rodgers’ plans at this moment in time, the Celtic boss’ uncertain future and the attraction of potentially securing Premier League football may turn his head.
Mason Mount will inevitably return to Chelsea at the end of the season as a big part of their future, so the Rams will find themselves with a direct replacement in the form of Christie. He has plenty of potential at just 23 years of age, can also operate as a winger, and has the pace and experience to terrorise any team.
He would be an excellent addition to the Rams.
