Huddersfield Town currently find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table, 10 points off safety, with caretaker manager Mark Hudson filling in.
The Terriers waved goodbye to David Wagner recently as he left the club by mutual consent.
And, it looks as if the Premier League club haven’t wasted much time in finding a replacement, as Jan Siewert was confirmed as their new boss.
In the last season and a half at Dortmund, Siewert has played a swish attacking style, usually in a fluid 4-3-3 formation, which will likely be put into action at the John Smith’s Stadium.
But, in order for the German to save the Terriers from the awful position they currently find themselves in, he’ll need to get the very best out of a couple of the club’s so-called star players.
One man who will have a vital part to play in preserving the club’s top-flight status is Alex Pritchard.
The 25-year-old has been one of the more impressive performers for Huddersfield in the current campaign, despite only finding the back of the net on one occasion so far. He has all the ingredients to become a star in the Premier League, but he just hasn’t been able to hit top form just yet.
Pritchard will have a huge part to play with Siewert and his attacking style possibly heading to Yorkshire, as his creativity in the final third will help them tick.
Another player who could quite easily help Siewert pull off the impossible is Steve Mounie.
The 20-year-old was one of David Wagner’s primary choices at the pinnacle of the attack during the first half of the season, but he just hasn’t been able to produce a consistent flow of goals with just one to his name currently.
He has the ability to find the back of the net on a regular basis in the Premier League as he managed to notch nine goals to help the Terriers avoid relegation last season, so he desperately needs to find his feet in quick time.
