Tonight’s EFL Trophy clash between Ipswich and Gillingham at Portman Road brings together Paul Lambert and Steve Evans for the first time since the managers’ spat last month.
When Ipswich won 1-0 at Gillingham in League One in September, Lambert accused Evans of refusing to shake his hand after the final whistle and described some of the Gills manager’s remarks during the game as “vile” and “a load of lies”, adding that the conduct of Evans towards him and his assistant Stuart Taylor was “a disgrace”. East Anglian Daily Times reported that Evans is willing to put the disagreement behind him and intends to shake his counterpart’s hand before the game, as well as sharing a post-match drink with him.
However, according to East Anglian Daily Times, Lambert doesn’t plan on reciprocating that intended goodwill, saying that he will “never interact with him again” after last month’s flare-up and will refuse any offers of a handshake.
These Ipswich fans on Twitter seem to be eagerly anticipating further fireworks between Lambert and Evans tonight:

Jordan Roberts & Andre Dozzell to grab Town’s goals. Steve Evans to continue his feud with Lord Lambert and perhaps try a Portman Pie.
