25-year-old eyes future at Leeds as Elland Road side continue play-off surge

Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are trying to keep their feet on the ground as they fight dreaming about a return to the top flight at last.

The Elland Road outfit have come out of the wilderness somewhat this season and it appears Garry Monk is on the brink of awakening a sleeping giant of the game finally.

The Whites have been next to nowhere in the last decade but this season has seen them return to winning ways and good performances – leaving them well in with a chance of qualifying for the play-offs at last.

Exciting times, then, and it appears Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson is keen to remain a part of it into next season.

The 25-year-old signed for the Whites at the start of this season but really hasn’t made much of an impression with the likes of Chris Wood making the forward spot his own.

That doesn’t seem to have dented Antonsson’s determination to play for the club, though, as he said to Swedish outlet Barometern:

“The signals I have received from Leeds are that they believe in me, they know what I can do.

“I’m not going to the Allsvenskan now.”

Determined words from the forward, then, though our local Leeds punters just cannot see much of a future for him, promotion or not this season.
