‘A joy to see’ – Leeds United fans on Twitter react to Thorp Arch footage

The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a video posted on Twitter by Leeds official account of right-back Luke Ayling as he steps up his injury comeback. The defender has been out since the 1st January, coinciding his absence with the spectacular fall from grace that the club have had, dropping from 6th to 14th.

Ayling required surgery on an ankle injury and has played just 26 minutes of football in 2018. When the defender was ruled out with injury he could’ve hoped his return would be coupled with a playoff place as the season reaches its end, but instead he’ll be facing another season in the Championship after the club have plummetted under Paul Heckingbottom.

Whilst the 25-year-old won’t be fit to face Barnsley tomorrow, he’ll be hoping to get himself back out on the pitch ready for the Yorkshire club’s pre-season tour after their last Championship games against Barnsley, Norwich and Queens Park Rangers have been played. The fans, who are getting sick and tired of Championship mediocrity, will be looking ahead to next season and praying that they may be able to achieve promotion back to the Premier League, whilst it’ll definitely be a push for them to achieve their goal, having Ayling back in the team will certainly help.
