Leeds United have been the standout performers in the Championship so far this season with their unbeaten record still intact.
The Whites have been impressive so far this season and don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon as Marcelo Bielsa continues to work wonders. Indeed, the Yorkshire club find themselves in pole position to secure the title and enjoy promotion to the Premier League.
It’s important that the South American can identify his best XI and that they can consistently produce results, with the Championship title in their sights.
Therefore, in an ideal world where injuries aren’t a problem and the race for the title is hotting up, here’s an idea of what Bielsa’s amazing XI should look like…
LEEDS’ AMAZING XI
We’ve gone with a 4-1-4-1 formation, as that is the formation that Bielsa has enjoyed so much success from in the current campaign, with the midfield four holding the key to unlocking the opposition’s defence.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been one of the shining lights in Marcelo Bielsa’s side for a long while now as one of the brightest prospects in English football.
Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi would be Leeds’ strongest central defensive partnership, despite Liam Cooper getting the nod so far this season. Indeed, Barry Douglas has proved to be one of the signings of the summer and Luke Ayling has displayed his goalscoring abilities.
In midfield, Kalvin Phillips will be deployed in front of the defence to ensure protection, while Samuel Saiz and Mateusz Klich will look to contribute in the final third and often thread the final ball through. Meanwhile, Pablo Hernandez has been in amongst the goals and assists this season, and Ezgjan Alioski has impressed.
Lastly, Kemar Roofe will be crucial to Leeds’ promotion push as their top scorer in the current campaign, with a goal never too far away when this man is involved.
