Leeds United have been extremely impressive in the Championship recently as they continue to chase down an automatic promotion place.
The Whites managed to show great grit and determination last time out against Millwall as they came from behind to seal a 3-2 win at Elland Road, which worked out perfectly as Sheffield United lost out to Bristol City.
However, the Yorkshire club will travel to St Andrew’s to face Birmingham City in their next Championship fixture later on today. The Blues find themselves in a spot of bother at this moment in time after their nine point deduction as they’re at risk of suffering relegation to League One if things don’t improve.
But, Marcelo Bielsa has a decision to make prior to kick-off as he can’t risk letting an underperformer from his side’s last outing start in today’s game. With that in mind, the South American must drop this man…
BENCH EZGJAN ALIOSKI
Ezgjan Alioski, who is valued at £3.6 million (by Transfermarkt), has impressed since being converted to left-back as he’s been a constant threat in the final third, as well as ensuring defensive solidity.
However, he had a day to forget last time out against Millwall as most of the Lions’ dangerous moments in the first-half came down Leeds’ left hand side. He got caught ahead of the ball on a few occasions and this caused Leeds a lot of trouble, which resulted in him being taken off at half-time.
Of course, in the midst of an automatic promotion push it’s vital that Bielsa drops the Macedonia international as they can’t afford to be lacklustre in defence against a dangerous Birmingham side that includes Che Adams.
