Big money offer touted as vital Leeds man has future discussed once again

Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are really looking forward to seeing their side in action once again this evening as they take on Fulham in the Championship.

The men from Elland Road are unbeaten so far in the campaign with a draw and a win from their opening two fixtures and now they face arguably their biggest test so far.

Indeed, they know all too well what Fulham can do and how they will also be going for the play-offs at least this year so it’s set to be a rather tense affair out on that pitch.

Whilst that goes on, though, there is also a rather tense situation brewing off of the pitch involving the future of Chris Wood.

Indeed, though Leeds repeatedly say that he is not for sale that does not seem to be deterring the likes of Burnley with the Daily Mail now reporting that they are readying a £20 million bid for the striker.

For sure, that is a decent amount of money but it’s likely Leeds will still try to hold on to him given how important he is to their side.

Landlord’s Verdict

£20 million is a good amount of money for a Championship club but Leeds, for the first time in a while, do not need to sell and, given how important Wood is, it’s unlikely they will.

The striker could be the difference in their promotion push and so holding out on selling for one more year could be the best decision they make for some time.
