The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from their star defender, Pontus Jansson. According to Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post, The Swede said he has five years left on his contract and expects to be at Elland Road next season, despite having dreams of playing in the Premier League.
Jansson on his future: said he has a five-year contract and expects to be here next season. Said he wants to play in the Premier League but that his dream is to play there with Leeds. #lufc

The Leeds fans propping our bar up seem to think Jansson will be playing Premier League football before Leeds are, as the 27-year-old has been one of the best defenders in the Championship over the last two seasons and will be travelling to the World Cup with his country in the summer. The Whites looked to have a good chance of securing a return to the Premier League this season as they sat at the top of the Championship for a fortnight in September before their awful form since the turn of the year has doomed them to their ninth straight season in the Championship.
Leeds have won just two games since 2017 and recently had their momentum killed as they looked to build on their victory against Bolton when they travelled to Craven Cottage on Friday. The club’s fans have been made to suffer recently as Elland Road has been anything but a fortress. If the fans are to see their club make a return to England’s top flight, they’ll need to keep their few stars like Jansson and add quality around them in the summer to try and force a return to the Premier League, be it automatically or via the playoffs.

The famous last words of everyone who leaves at the end of the season!

Might want to play better then

Want him to stay, but if I was him I wouldn’t unless there is serious investment in the summer

Would love him to stay, but every player says the same thing before they leave in the summer

Text book statement. Save this as a template Phil and simply replace Jansson for Saiz in the near future
