The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their dominant Swedish centre-half, Pontus Jansson. Whilst speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Jansson claimed that Leeds are currently “in the middle of nowhere, fighting for nothing” and last season the club was more suited to the Championship than they are in the current campaign.
"We had a really good team last year, maybe a team who were better suited to the Championship." Pontus Jansson reflects on the failings at Leeds United this season:https://t.co/S4TVsSocbu

The frank comments from Jansson come after Leeds failed to build on their 2-1 win over Bolton last Friday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Craven Cottage just four days later. The Elland Road faithful have suffered a dismal tome in 2018 as the club have won just two games out of the 15 they’ve played in the Championship since the turn of the year. In that time the club has dropped from 6th, occupying the final playoff spot, to 13th and ten points off of 6th placed Middlesbrough.
Pontus Jansson has been one of Leeds most consistent performers over the last two years and many have touted the Swede with a move to the Premier League if he can impress in the World Cup in Russia in a few months time. For now, though, Jansson has his eyes on a strong finish to the Championship season with the Whites as he’ll be hoping to get some solid performances under his belt to help Leeds hit next season with some momentum as he the club hope to achieve promotion next year and end what will be a nine-year stay in England’s second tier.
Taking that into account, here’s what the Leeds fans have been saying about Jansson’s comments:
Having a striker who scored 30 goals was quite a big help…..if you sell all the talent you end up where we are now.

Cracking presser from Pontus. Always very honest, without going *too* far. Bit like Bamba. Great to have a player in the team who's prepared to stick his neck out like this, rather than the usual "we're just focused on the next game" stuff.

I disagree. We have the Albanian leagues 5th highest scorer from 2015. A goalie who has crisp packet hands and a midfield that is league 1 standard. We should be top of the league and unbeaten.

All down to owner not replacing Green Bartley & Wood – just as all fans said was needed but hey ho we have an expert or clown in Victor pulling the strings

Without a doubt and the back four a lot better and a top striker, didn’t replace, woods in summer, so what did we expect?

He doesn't sound happy at all . Is he angling for a move …? Can't see him at Leeds past next Jan window at latest . Could be this summer if he plays and impresses in World Cup . He needs to raise his game to levels of last season when he had good partner in Bartley . #LUFC

Clear for everyone to see apart from Radrizanni, the man who matters. Must be clear to him now anyway but we’ll soon find out in the summer. Seems an intelligent man so the last thing I’d expect from him is for him to repeat his mistakes.

We have gone backwards this year.
The first thing you do in a new position is listen . I think our chairmen has listened ….. unfortunately to the wrong people.
