Leeds fans have been reacting to comments made by the club’s owner, Andrea Radrizzani. The Italian who gained full ownership of the club back in May last year has criticised the Leeds United players in an interview with TalkSPORT for their lack of commitment, passion and spirit as they look set to miss out on a promotion playoff spot for another season.
Leeds fans came into the season with high hopes under manager Thomas Christensen and even occupied the top spot in the Championship for two weeks in September. Although the form expected of a relegation-threatened club has plagued the club since the turn of the year, with the club winning just one game in their last 13, plummetting them into 13th and 11 points away from the playoffs.
For the club to achieve a playoff place now, it would take an incredible upturn of form from what the club has recently achieved. A 2-2 draw away at Reading, in a game that Paul Heckingbottom’s side really should have won, came after two successive 3-0 defeats to Middlesbrough and Wolves. The Championship looks set to see another season with Leeds United as the Whites who have been propping our bar up continue to dream of a return to the top flight.
Here’s what the Elland Road faithful made of Radrizzani’s comments:
Blimey… that'll go down well in the dressing room! #lufc

I had high hopes when @andrearadri took over but we have gone backwards this year. Although we blew it last season under @GarryMonk it felt like we were heading in the right direction and finished 7th. The buck stops with A.R and Victor Orta. They put the squad together.

Commitment. He should look at himself. Commitment isn’t selling your top striker, not replacing the best LB in the league and letting a failed DOF have free reign to put together, arguably, the worst squad we’ve had since Warnock. #lufc
