Leeds United currently find themselves in second position after a negative result last time out, but promotion to the Premier League is still well within their reach.
The Whites suffered defeat against Norwich City at Elland Road last weekend in what was a woeful performance from the Yorkshire club, which raised a few alarm bells around Elland Road.
However, Leeds will travel to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough later on today in their next Championship fixture. Boro head into today’s game off the back of a disappointing result in the FA Cup against Newport County, but they did manage to get the better of West Brom at the Hawthorns last weekend.
Nevertheless, after such a disappointing result last time out, this Leeds DUO must avoid putting on another horror show against Boro today…
Pablo Hernandez has been one of the standout performers for Leeds United in the Championship this season, with all things brilliant going through the Spanish wizard.
However, he had arguably one of his worst games at Elland Road last time out, as he constantly gave the ball away and offered very little going forward or defensively.
So, the winger will need to be at this best later on today if the Whites are to avoid another negative result, as he’s been their go-to man in the current campaign.
Luke Ayling was as solid as a rock during the first half of the current campaign, but his performances in recent times and against Norwich City have been less than convincing. He made lots of errors and lost possession in the build up to the second goal in a poor area before being rescued by Liam Cooper last time out at Elland Road.
Therefore, the right-back needs to buck up his ideas if he is to keep his place in the side as he just hasn’t looked his usual self in recent times.
