The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying their pre-Christmas drink a little bit more after what happened yesterday.
Leeds triumphed with a 1-0 win at home to Hull City courtesy of a cool, calm and composed chipped finish from Pablo Hernandez.
This moved the Whites up to fifth in the league and hopes of promotion are well and truly alive.
But then some other news further improved the Leeds fans’ moods.
It was announced that Middlesbrough had sacked former Leeds United manager Garry Monk, less than half a season after he left Elland Road to join Boro.
Monk had left Leeds after finishing just shy of the play-off zone with them last year, claiming that he had a better prospect of a long term contract with Middlesbrough.
Leeds fans flocked to Twitter to mock the 38-year-old for this decision in wake of his sacking and here are the best tweets following the confirmation of this news.

"there wasn't any intention to give me a long-term future at the club" Garry Monk. Well he made the most off his 'long-term future' at boro

Don’t wanna keep going on about Monk. But fact is he was at Leeds,a massive club with majority of fans behind him, a great new owner and still only 38years old. He would hav been given time. It’s impossible to feel any sympathy for him. #lufc
