Leeds United fans are, naturally, really rather proud of their infamous academy.
Indeed, with the Whites having produced a number of top talents over the course of their illustrious history, the fact that Thorp Arch continues to churn out talents who one day make their way to the first-team is a real source of pride up in West Yorkshire, even under Marcelo Bielsa.
So, imagine the delight amongst Whites online following comments from Jack Clarke. The 17-year-old made his debut against Brentford after a number of injuries in the Leeds first-team and looks set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Ryan Edmundson and Tom Pearce as having regular opportunities in the starting XI.
However, the talented teen isn’t getting too excited, it seems. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, he revealed he’s prepared to bide his time as the Yorkshire giants chase a long-awaited return to the Premier League, an attitude that’s delighted fans on Twitter.
With that in mind, here’s a closer look at the reaction.
I think he will be up there as one of the best players to come from our academy

What a moment for him. He looked very composed when he came on and had very quick feet. A bright future ahead of him and great to see academy players coming through and fitting in straight away

Any of the players in the first team picture at the moment would be crazy to want to leave now. They have a coach who will teach them more than anyone else in their careers and they should savour and take in every single session. #lufc

Got a big future. Hopefully it'll be at Leeds United and not Bournemouth or Burnley

Love that description of standing ready to come one. The dream we all had as kids. To wear that white kit and go out to make your debut at Elland Road. #lufc
