Leeds have recently been adding nicely to their squad in the hope that manager Marcelo Bielsa has what it takes to inspire the Liliywhites to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
They have really ramped up the transfer market heat after splashing the cash on forward Patrick Bamford, a player signed on a four-year deal in the hope that his goals are enough to allow a promotion push to be possible. Whether Marcelo Bielsa can bring the best out of the Englishman is yet unknown but another English forward he should also recruit as a goal-scoring source should be James Wilson, a Man United outcast valued at £1.8 million on Transfermarkt.
The 22-year-old struggled in his most recent loan move to Sheffield United due to a lack of game-time but a move to Leeds could do him the world of good and to prove to the Championship that he is a good forward on his day. His youth league form shows exactly the striker James Wilson can be, having scored 15 goals in 30 Premier League 2 appearances and Leeds could be the team to benefit from that form.
Wilson is still with Manchester United which proves deep down that he does have the ability but as of yet hasn’t found the perfect home for himself to settle down and score some goals. Leeds are now really working on making sure their team is best prepared for the season ahead having endured a deeply bad campaign last time out. When cruising into the play-off places at Christmas but ending up finishing 13th really shows the decline of Leeds and how bad their form really was last year.
That is set to all change under Marcelo Bielsa and James Wilson could be a back-up option to score the much-needed goals for the Lilywhites.
