Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fairly content with the start to the season they’ve made with them sitting on four points in the Championship from two games.
The men from Elland Road would, of course, have liked to build on their away win at Bolton with a home win over Preston this weekend just gone but the men from Deepdale held firm to take a point away.
Both sides, then, are now on four points and will be thinking about being in and around the play-offs for the whole campaign with Chris Wood surely set to be key in anything the men from Yorkshire achieve.
For sure, the striker has been linked with moves away this summer but the Whites still have ownership of him and, as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post, Thomas Christiansen is of the impression that any bids between now and the end of the summer will be rejected.
Indeed, he said:
“It’s very important. There’s no doubt that he’s (not) going to leave.
“They (other clubs) can come in with many bids – of course he’s a good striker – but I want him to stay and if we want to achieve something this season, you cannot sell your best players.”
Leeds fans, then, might just be able to relax a bit more about this situation with their manager providing what seems to be a pretty positive take on things.
The Whites have certainly had a good enough start to the campaign and now it’s time to really kick on and get up a head of steam.
Naturally, then, Wood is going to be vital in that cause and these words from Spaniard Christensen are bound to ensure the fans are right behind him past the window – along as he keeps to his word.
