Our Leeds United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are in good spirits at the moment after they beat fierce rivals Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.
A big game anyway, there was an added incentive for the winner as the two sides are battling for the play-off places to the Premier League.
The Whites ran out the winners in the end, too, as they continue to go well this season but with that, fringe players or ones that have come in in January are likely to get less of a look-in right now.
However, change could be afoot in the coming weeks as the games come thick and fast with Garry Monk suggesting mid-season signings Moudou Barrow and Alfonso Pedraza will get more of a chance to play.
The pair have had limited action so far but, as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post, Monk said:
“Our aim in that window was to help strengthen that group that was already doing very well and those two have come in and added quality and that strength that we need. They are working incredibly well, they have already played minutes on the pitch and I am sure in the future games they are going to continue like the others.”
The former Swansea man seems ready to rotate his squad to keep things fresh, then, and our landlord reckons that might not be a bad idea.
Leeds play Birmingham next before a big game with Fulham who are also chasing those play-off places.
