According to the Daily Star, three Bundesliga sides, including RB Leipzig, are interested in signing Leeds target Joe Bryan from Bristol City.
If Leeds were to miss out on the left-back, then it would mean their summer so far going from bad to worse.
Having already missed out on top targets such as Florian Jozefzoon and Mohamed Eisa, and with other linked players such as Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez seemingly slipping out of reach, new boss Marcelo Bielsa desperately needs to get a permanent signing under his belt so that Leeds’ summer can really get going.
Leeds should do all that they can to convince Bryan to make the move to Elland Road. The 24-year-old is one target the Whites can’t afford to let slip through their fingers.
Bryan has been in fine form for Bristol City over the last few seasons and would be a great signing for Leeds if they are able to get it over the line.
Bielsa’s back line is in dire need of surgery this summer, given how short it is on depth and quality. If Leeds are serious about becoming genuine promotion contenders this season then they need to put solid defensive foundations in place now.
Bryan enjoyed an excellent season in the second tier last time out, chipping in with 5 goals and 3 assists over the course of the Championship campaign, whilst remaining a near ever-present pillar of solidity at the back.
Transfermarkt value the full-back at £4.5 million, but no matter the fee, Leeds can’t afford to miss out here.
