Leeds confirm defender deal as forward strides continue

Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are very happy with how things have started for their side this season with the club ready for a promotion surge.

Indeed, it’s two wins from two in all competitions so far with the club scoring plenty of goals and looking as though they have real strength in depth.

So far, then, Thomas Christiansen and Andrea Radrizzani are doing a top job and that seems to be continuing with Liam Cooper signing a new deal with the club – as per the club’s official website.

The defender is back after a tough 2016/17 for the new campaign and already looks well-suited to the side with a strong performance at the weekend as half of his defence was taken by injury.

For sure, then, he looks set to be an integral part of the club for the coming years and what they aim to achieve under Christiansen with the deal running to the end of the 2020/21 season.

Time enough, fans will hope, for the club to end up back in the Premier League.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Whites are really looking a cohesive unit at the moment and, thanks to the size of the club, it’s not going to take long before there’s some serious momentum getting generated.

Yes, it’s early days but the boxes off the pitch are getting ticked and this Cooper deal is certainly going to help the feel-good factor.
