Leeds will be hoping that this season can finally be the time when they return into the Premier League.
With Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, anything is possible this season. The highly-rated boss has already led Leeds to 1st place but with more than half a season still to play, nothing is done just yet.
It’s been a great start but Leeds need to ensure they continue this great form if they wish to get back into the Premier League.
Both quality and quantity is needed to supplement their squad, so signing defender Philipp Wollscheid could be the best way of solving that issue.
Wollscheid, (who is valued at £2.2 million on Transfermarkt) has been without a club since the start of the year but still has two years worth of Premier League experience to his name.
Since leaving Stoke, Wollscheid spent around six months in France with Metz but now has no club.
With the injury problems Leeds have already endured this season, it would make a very sensible addition for the Peacocks to eye another defender.
Liam Cooper remains sidelined, Gaetano Barardi too, so Leeds could really do with another centre-back to slot in alongside Pontus Jansson.
At no cost either, surely Philipp Wollscheid is a punt worth taking for Leeds as he could be a massive part in allowing their promotion dreams to come true.
Previously capped twice by Germany, Wollscheid has a wealth of experience to offer the Peacocks. He is only 29-years-old right now, meaning he still has plenty of energy left to keep performing.
