Leeds could push for promotion with the summer signing of talented £3.15m-rated Bristol City man

Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are angry and want change as they had another poor season in the Championship and have prolonged the wait to be back in the top flight even further.

In recent years, the Lilywhites were finding some rhythm and didn’t look out of place in and around the play-off places. This season mind you, after an impressive start, Leeds boiled off the gas and consequently will not be returning to the Premier League anytime soon.

The summer signings to say the least have not been adequate. This includes the transfer everyone thought was a miracle when Leeds pulled it off, but Pierre-Michel Lasogga hasn’t delivered the goods he promised to do so. Therefore with the Leeds strike-force in need of fresh talent, us punters feel that the Elland Road side would be a great home for Ollie Watkins, who is valued at £3.15 million on Transfermarkt.

Watkins has launched himself head-first into the Championship when moving from League two Exeter City to Brentford but the young Englishman has been a revelation since arriving, scoring 10 goals and creating 5 goals for his teammates in 37 Championship games.

No one quite knew what to expect from Ollie Watkins but the pacey, energetic forward has been a massive part in helping Brentford leap over clubs like Leeds in the middle of the table.

Landlords verdict:

It’s been a really poor season thus far for Leeds and with it unlikely to improve and only get worse, the summer will be an important time to locate and buy new players to lead a promotion charge. The fact is, Leeds are still a huge team and deserve to be in the top flight, so signing an up and coming talent like Ollie Watkins would be a great start.
