Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still getting over their loss to Sutton United yesterday so hopefully AS’ report that they’re looking at Alfonso Pedraza will help perk them up.
Garry Monk made plenty of changes to his side for their FA Cup game yesterday and it duly came back to haunt him as they ended up losing 1-0 to the non-league side.
Even so, if they can get promoted this year to the Premier League they’ll surely not care one bit and so they’ll be hoping the potential addition of Pedraza can help that cause.
The deal is reportedly a loan offer to start, with the view to a permanent move should the young Villarreal man impress at Elland Road and the club get into the top flight.
They’ve every chance of doing just that, too, with them well in the play-off places and looking to reel in Brighton and Newcastle at the top of the tree.
Our landlord thinks the signing of Pedraza could be an exciting one, particularly if he can show the form that has led him to be a Spanish U21 international.
