Leeds: Fans buzz over ‘iconic’ photo from 2010 promotion

It’s 10 years to the day since Leeds escaped the clutches of League One after their victory over Bristol Rovers secured their promotion into the Championship.
Plenty of United fans were looking back at their mighty 2009/10 season which they rounded off with their all-important promotion. Yorkshire Post photographer Jonathan Gawthorpe has shared an image he snapped during the team’s post-match celebrations on his official Twitter account.
Leeds completed their historic comeback against Bristol Rovers to go on to win 2-1 and secure the second automatic promotion spot in the League One table.
Will Leeds manage to sign Ben White this summer?
Yes

No

Many Whites fans flocked to the post to reminisce on the celebrations that took place at Elland Road that day. Since they went up to the second tier, Leeds haven’t looked back and could also be facing a return to the Premier League next season once football resumes, given their current status as Championship leaders.
One supporter is in awe of Gawthorpe’s ‘iconic’ photo and you can read more of the best replies below:
