Leeds United: Fans debate ability of Illan Meslier after training footage emerges

Many Leeds United fans have debated the ability of Illan Meslier after latest footage emerged from Thorp Arch of the goalkeeper in training.
With the Championship season on the verge of returning after its postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic, most Leeds fans will be interested to watch on as Meslier continues to provide backup for Kiko Casilla.
Casilla, who was charged with racial abuse and banned for eight games, has had his fair share of criticism this season and it remains to be seen who Marcelo Bielsa will opt to have as his ‘keeper for next season, one which could see Championship leaders Leeds return to the Premier League.
Meslier, who is on loan from Ligue 2 side Lorient, has done moderately well when given the chance in the first team, whilst Casilla has secured 15 clean sheets this term.
With Championship players gradually returning to training this week, footage has now emerged of Meslier training and it has left some Leeds fans in two minds over whether or not he could be the man to take the number one spot in the future.

The 20-year-old. who has played two league games this term and kept two clean sheets, gained many plaudits for his training routine, with a number of fans praising him and calling for him to the ‘number one for the foreseeable’.
Got to be our number 1 from the foreseeable

He’s immense and will only get better. We’ve got a serious problem if he gets ill or injured while we’re trying to complete the season though.

However, some fans did question the footage which saw Meslier have a few ‘worrying’ moments.
Any danger of holding some of those?!

The number one spot is certainly up for grabs at Elland Road but it could be that Bielsa brings in someone new entirely this summer.
Meslier has done well during his two appearances in the league, whilst you cannot argue with Casilla’s experience, having played for Real Madrid in the past.
