Leeds United’s U23s are almost as good as the senior side. The pint-sized Whites have become used to brushing teams to the side and winning with ease, and on Monday it was no different as Hugo Diaz shone from his holding midfield role, setting up both of his side’s goals.

Bolton’s young aide had the better of the game in the first 45 minutes and it was one that saw the Whites up against it. However, Bailey Peacock-Farrell stood firm in the Leeds goal and kept the score at 0-0 going into the break. In the second half, though, things were extremely different and Hugo Diaz came into his own, playing delightful balls through for Jordan Stevens and Robbie Gotts to score.
If the young Spaniard can keep up his form then he may be in line to make his second senior appearance for the Whites after his first game against Preston North End last season in April in the Championship. Since then, his only other inclusion in a matchday squad came as an unused substitute against QPR in the FA Cup last month. However, that could all change if he continues to play as he did two days ago.

You're a great player. Play like this all the time and you will include first team !

The Whites loved seeing Diaz shine for the U23s and will hope that form can translate to the senior side if he’s called upon by Marcelo Bielsa.
