Last night was a performance to remember from the Whites. A Pablo Hernandez masterclass delivered Leeds United all three points at the Madejski Stadium and had Patrick Bamford been at his goal-scoring best it could have been a much heavier defeat for Reading. Now, though, the fans are expecting Bamford to step up on Saturday.
CHANCE: Bamford….could have had a hat-trick in three minutes. Shackleton with a great pass into the box, Bamford stabs it past Martinez but just wide of the far post. 0-3 on 79 mins. #lufc

As Marcelo Bielsa’s side went into half-time with a 3-0 lead the game was all but wrapped up, however, that 3-0 margin could easily have become a 6-0 margin as Patrick Bamford missed a flurry of chances to get on the scoresheet midway through the second 45 minutes. The home supporters sarcastically chanted ‘give it to Bamford’ and the away supporters just hope he’s saving his goals for Saturday.
If the fans could pick and choose when their frontman is to score, they’d definitely save the goals for the big games, and this weekend is surely one of those. Sheffield United travel to Elland Road in a massive clash between two of the Championship’s three sides vying for automatic promotion. Another miss-fest from Bamford won’t be tolerated come 12:30 on Saturday as a win will put the Whites in the driver’s seat for a top-two finish, something the fans are desperate for Bamford to fire them to.
You can see what the Whites made of Bamford’s misses here:
Unlucky today Bamford, still had a very good game despite not scoring. Rather he missed chances like these today and not against Sheff U. Hopefully he gets a goal to boost his confidence a bit

Get those misses out of him now ahead of Saturday

The important thing to note is Bamford is getting chances, he’s still not firing on all cylinders but I’m sure if he gets similar chances against the Blades on Saturday he’ll buy them away. At the moment he seems confident which for a striker is excellent news

Hope Bamford was saving his shooting boots for Saturday

He’s saving them for the weekend #MOT

Get those out the way now and score 4 on Saturday

Bamford looked very annoyed with himself at the end , Saturday he will be on a mission you watch

The Whites were never going to be happy seeing their front-man miss so many chances, but with a huge game on Saturday they’re desperate for Bamford to be saving some strikes for the weekend.
