Leeds fans have had their share of ups and downs this season haven’t they? Whilst the results on the pitch have been mostly outstanding, the way things are going off of it is nothing short of shambolic, as injuries have plagued the club since matchday one, and this time around the player to suffer a setback is summer signing Barry Douglas.

The news has come from the ever-reliable Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post, and it’s news that the fans really could have done without. However, whilst the Whites are gutted for Douglas, recently the Scottish defender has taken a back seat whilst Ezgjan Alioski has starred as a full-back. Whether he’s been playing or not, though, the fans are still gutted for the defender as he faces 12 weeks out.
That time frame means that the experienced Championship man will be set to miss the rest of the season, although hopefully, his ruptured medial knee ligament won’t affect his game when he does return to fitness ready for next season. Douglas suffered the injury against Millwall after all three subs had been made and he decided to valiantly continue despite being in obvious pain. That kind of commitment sums up the left-back, and the Whites will hope he can return in good knick next season.
You can see what the fans had to say upon hearing of Douglas’ blow here:
Never known a season like this for injuries, it’s mental. speedy recovery Barry

That is a blow. Sorry for the lad. Top professional. Lovely, whipped-in cross for Ayling's goal. Even when not starting, he's a great option in Marcello's pocket for the second half. Still, we've had to do it the hard way all season. MOT.

Just before the first game of the season he was going to have a fully fit squad

Is Alioski okay? #lufc

The Whites are far from happy to see Douglas added to their long list of injury woes, and are in disbelief that they will end the season without once having a fully fit squad.
