Leeds fans on Twitter were all quick to slander Bristol City after Johnson comments

Leeds fans are absolutely desperate to avoid the playoffs this season, everyone knows they have enough in them to go up automatically, yet that may still be easier said than done. However, after the Whites beat Bristol City in their own backyard at Ashton Gate yesterday, Robins’ boss Lee Johnson has claimed he wants the Whites in the playoffs.

These comments from the extremely young Championship manager have been met with plenty of scorn from the Whites. As far as the Leeds fans are concerned, Johnson’s side needs to focus on getting to the playoffs before they can start shouting their mouths off about who they want to play, especially if they put in performances like the one they managed yesterday as they lost 1-0 at home.

Marcelo Bielsa’s experience was obviously too much for the 37-year-old Johnson, and it comes as no shock that the Ashton Gate boss wants to try and get his own back in the playoffs. You’d back Bristol City to go on and secure their place in the top six, yet it won’t be easy. At the moment the Robins sit 7th but if they win their game in hand then they’ll rise two points above Derby County into that final, and elusive, playoff place.

Leeds fans will be taking a particular interest in Bristol City after yesterday’s action and will love it if the Robins miss out on the top six.
