Many Leeds United fans have reacted to a Facebook post sharing a comment from journalist Phil Hay on the potential of the Championship being ended by a points-per-game system.
With the coronavirus pandemic causing football to come to a standstill across Europe, the return of the Bundesliga at the weekend is expected to open up some doors to a potential resumption elsewhere.
England’s second tier remains postponed at the present time with Leeds on course for automatic promotion places at the summit of the table. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have bounced back in style this season after losing to Derby County in the Championship semi-final play-off last term.
A return to the Premier League is now on the cards, although a decision over the outcome of English football has caused much debate over whether the season will end on the pitch or by a points-per-game system. Leeds would remain top if the latter develops, seemingly paving the way for promotion.
Reacting to the Facebook post via All Leeds Aren’t We!!!, these fans gave an opinion on Hay’s comments…
Mark Jones: Top man
Colin Stephen Green: The only bloke I trust in the media
Marti Hunter: We will go up whatever
Luke Scott: It is the right solution
Steven Grayson: Have to be progressive
Ian Waugh: Deffo happening now
Craig Soares: Must not like his house
Andy Hirst: I would go outside to check if Hay said it was raining
