A number of Leeds United supporters have been reacting on social media after WhoScored recognised the impressive form Stuart Dallas, Ben White and Pablo Hernandez have displayed at the start of the season.
The Whites trio were all included in WhoScored’s Championship Team of the Month for August, in a side joined by Swansea City duo Freddy Woodman and Mike van der Hoorn, Reading pair Ovie Ejaria and John Swift and Fulham duo Joe Bryan and Ivan Cavaleiro, along with Brentford’s Ollie Watkins and Sheffield Wednesday’s Steven Fletcher.
WhoScored rated Dallas’ efforts in the second-tier during the opening games worthy of a 7.1/10 rating, while White was awarded a 7.5 and Hernandez a 7.6, making them the leading performers for the right-back, centre-half, and right-midfield roles respectively.
To achieve his position-high rating, Dallas was recorded as completing 1.8 tackles per 90 minutes, along with 1.2 interceptions, two clearances and 1.4 blocks, as well as 0.9 key balls from an average of 58.1 passes, 1.4 successful dribbles from 2.0 attempts, and scored the opening goal as Leeds beat Stoke City 3-0.
Hernandez assisted Dallas’ only goal of the campaign thus far in what was his second assist of the season, while the Spaniard has also scored twice. The 34-year-old also averaged 2.8 key balls per 90 minutes from an average of 63.9 passes, joined by 3.3 shots, 1.7 tackles, and 2.1 successful dribbles from three attempts.
White, on the other hand, is the only Leeds player from the three in WhoScored’s Team of the Month to be without a goal after featuring in each of the club’s six Championship fixtures so far. The on-loan centre-half from Brighton & Hove Albion has averaged 2.5 successful tackles from 2.8 attempts per game, and has recorded 4.2 interceptions, 3.7 clearances, 1.5 blocks and 2.8 successful aerial duels per 90 minutes.
The Leeds trio’s inclusion in WhoScored’s Team of the Month has seen the clutch of Marcelo Bielsa regulars lauded by portions of the Elland Road faithful, although some have opted to focus on players who were not selected like Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah.
