Leeds fans take to Twitter to laud Pablo Hernandez as he swoops club award - Championship

Leeds fans are all getting over the events of the last couple of weeks and it looks like they now face a tough time in the playoffs. However, if they can get their player of the season Pablo Hernandez playing his best football throughout the two-legged semi-final and Wembley final then there’s no reason why they can’t win it.

This season has been one of the hardest in years for a single player to swoop the club’s player of the season award. Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Pontus Jansson, Mateusz Klich, Kemar Roofe and the eventual winner Pablo Hernandez all had amazing shouts to take the accolade, but only one player can take it and Hernandez is a deserving win.

The veteran Spaniard has been an incredible asset at Elland Road this season, but the 34-year-old doesn’t deserve to end the season as a Championship player still. The Premier League is where the 12 goal and 12 assist midfielder belongs, and the fact that he could end his career as a Leeds player without having played top flight football is an injustice in itself.

The Whites absolutely love Hernandez and would do anything to secure promotion this season for their Spanish ace alone.
