Leeds fans have had it rough over the last couple of months. Their side’s football hasn’t been amazing and the fans have been left frustrated by results and the Spygate incident that was hanging over them. However, it’s all looking to be back on track, and Ezgjan Alioski ensured they got the win yesterday with his fortuitous Elland Road winner.

The Macedonian winger comes in for a lot of criticism for his efforts for the Whites. As a wide man this season he’s been used both on the wing and as a wing-back in by Marcelo Bielsa, yet the fans don’t always appreciate him. The 27-year-old scored his 6th goal of the season yesterday, and whilst he didn’t mean the strike he will certainly not be complaining about it.
That goal saw him reach 11 combined goals and assists this season, and that will be a figure he’ll be desperate to improve on. It will certainly be hard to do that as he’s used as a winger on either side and at full-back, but when Alioski gets forward he can be very effective. His cross-shot yesterday isn’t something you see every day, but it brought the Whites a winner and that’s all that matters.

The lucky strike will be one that both Alioski and the Leeds fans alike enjoyed very much and they’ll all be keen to see more of that from the Macedonian.
