Leeds: Fans worried about xG stats

Leeds United are many onlookers’ team to beat this season in the Sky Bet Championship with the Whites near the top of the league and hoping to stat there.
The first third of the season is over and it is clear that Marcelo Bielsa’s men are once again on the promotion trail with them playing some of the best football on offer in the league.
However, it could, and should arguably, be better than it already is this season for the Whites when you take certain stats into mind.
Indeed, for xG performance, they are bottom of the pile in the Championship:
xG – 1st. xG performance – 24th. 🤦♂️#lufc https://t.co/NopQlFSvBW

And, in essence, this simply means that they are not anywhere near as efficient as they should be in front of goal, holding the biggest differential between expected goals and actual goals in the entire division.
This has of course got some fans worried ahead of the rest of the season.
That in mind, then, let’s take a look at what Whites fans have had to say on Twitter in response to this reveal:
Painful viewing. Big chance conversion and xG performance absolutely shocking. Clearly evident from xG, deep completions, shots and big chances per game that Leeds are creating enough and providing the right quality, but our finishing across the board has been extremely poor.

I was slated on here for suggesting at the start of the season that Bamford wasn’t a finisher and wouldn’t score 20 goals. I stand by that point. I’m hopeful we’ll invest up top in January otherwise I fear it could be the play offs once again.

Only thing that counts is league position- can have all the stats you like but if not putting chances away it will be another season in championship

We should be well clear and ready to break records

We have to hope that penalty will give him confidence, otherwise he can have no complaints if Eddie takes his shirt. Really like the fella and there's no doubt our shape suffers without him, but unfortunately he's not clinical enough and that's the bottom line

Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!Preston a clear anomaly.
They can’t keep up their conversion rate surely – presumably inflated by the ridiculous number of penalties they have had already (8) and scored from (8)— Gary Warman (@GaryWarman15) November 15, 2019
