Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their solid enough start to the season can now be built on into something special.
The men from Elland Road have had a top summer in terms of work off of the field but that will count for little if they cannot make things happen on the pitch.
So far, though, the club is unbeaten and there is also room for improvement so it could be a good year for the Whites this season.
Certainly, Thomas Christiansen would like to see the club score more goals after two 0-0 draws and it seems their chances to do that this season have been boosted recently.
Indeed, according to The Daily Mail, Burnley have given up on signing Leeds’ striker Chris Wood this summer and have decided to change targets, surely coming as a relief to Leeds fans all over.
Wood is, of course, the club’s main striker and was massive for them last season so he was always going to be subject of interest this summer.
It seems, though, that he will be staying put as the rest of the campaign stretches out ahead.
Wood is a hugely important figure for the club this season and Thomas Christiansen has been consistent throughout in saying he is not for sale.
Of course, though, that does not always mean much in this modern climate in the transfer market but Burnley’s apparent cooling off really should be taken as a positive sign for Leeds fans.
