Leeds linked with 24-year-old as they aim for promotion challenge

Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see their side hit the ground running in the new campaign as they are hoping for their club to get promoted.

The men from Elland Road have had a positive last few months and though they missed out on the play-offs last season they should be confident that they can get themselves together and end up in the Premier League.

Of course, though, they need a new manager to arrive before too long whilst they also need to bring in some extra players to help bolster the squad.

Who arrives, of course, remains to be seen but it appears as though there is an interest from the club in Sam Johnstone – according to The Daily Mail.

Johnstone, of course, spent half of last season on loan from Manchester United at Aston Villa and did pretty well – suggesting he’d be good for another Championship club.

Leeds, though, have Rob Green who also had a top season last time out and so this deal would possibly create a selection headache for whoever the new manager is.
