Leeds fans still can’t quite believe that Marcelo Bielsa is their new head coach and if they get the right signings this summer, the Lilywhites can be hopeful of a successful campaign.
Despite enduring a massive drop in form last season, Leeds can now look forward to their future under a top manager who if he signs the right players, could be a top manager for the Lilywhites. Although he virtually abandoned Sunderland last season, Jack Rodwell could reinvent himself with a move to Leeds, as he is now available on a free transfer.
The English midfielder was a player many teams wanted a few years ago as he just bagged a big move to Manchester City to further his talent. Unfortunately though after not finding game-time easy to come by, the City move turned out to be a disaster and Rodwell had to start again with Sunderland.
Many thought that would be an inspired move but everything has gone wrong for Rodwell meanwhile and now Leeds could be the club to turn him back into the quality player he once was and still could be once again. Still Rodwell is only 27, so on paper he should be heading into his prime years, something Leeds could profit from.
Their whole team lacks real quality and on his day, Jack Rodwell could be the influential spark in the Lilywhites midfield, providing the cutting edge in attack and helping out by tracking back, putting tackles in and breaking up opposition attacks.
