The Leeds fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are very excited to see if Marcel Bielsa can bring success back to Elland Road and achieve their dream of a top flight return.
It was an extremely disappointing season last time out for Leeds but the Lilywhites will now be feeling optimistic that with a top manager in charge, they can finally show their potential and even attempt to reach the top flight once again. Simply, Leeds need to tighten their defence and score more goals and our punters believe the latter can be improved by signing Shane Long, who is valued at £6.3 million on Transfermarkt.
Despite the Southampton forward struggling for goals last season, (alike the rest of the team) his form could be transformed if given another chance in the Championship. Leeds are already in the market for a striker with Abel Hernandez reportedly a target and the pair could link up nicely to provide hard-working pressing and speed in abundance.
Leeds know they have to improve on last season’s woes and although on paper a two-goal striker wouldn’t be the answer to their problems, Shane Long offers a lot more than just goals. He often plays a vital part in helping his team by pressing defenders, not giving them a moments piece which can lead to mistakes to be capitalised on. At 31-years-old, Long will be looking for regular football and due to their equal struggles, Leeds could offer just that.
Would this be a good move from Leeds… Let us know!
