Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern really do believe that their side is going to go up this season, via the automatic spots or the play-offs.
Indeed, such has been the turnaround in fortunes under Garry Monk this season you can see why there is such belief with them moving from mid-table also-rans to a real force in the second tier.
Certainly, they demonstrated as such with their last game before the international break as they out-fought Brighton to win 2-0 and close the gap on the top two.
Whatever happens, though, as long as they’re in the top six by the end of the season they’ll feel anything is then possible and Steve McClaren has handed them a boost in reckoning that the Whites will be hard to stop at that stage.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ PL Daily Show (via footballinsider247,) the former Newcastle and England boss said:
“I would back them because they have momentum and strength.”
You can’t really disagree with McClaren either with the Whites in fine form and certainly bolstering plenty of talent amongst their ranks.
Time will tell, then, if the former Derby boss is spot on or not.
