Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking to put this season behind them as soon as possible as they play their final Championship match of the campaign against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The campaign has been disappointing for the Yorkshire outfit, despite starting off so well, and now they look set to finish in the bottom half of the table. Paul Heckingbottom’s side will want to finish the year with a win though, although they will be without one of their most influential players for the fixture that holds little meaning, as per The Yorkshire Evening Post.
The Whites are preparing to face QPR on Sunday, however, they look set to be without Pablo Hernandez for the tie, as the midfielder has reportedly returned to his homeland so he can be present for the birth of his second child, thus likely ruling him out of the final game of the season.
The Spaniard is a fan favourite at Elland Road and has recently signed a new two-year deal to remain at the club, where he holds aims of getting them into the Premier League, but it doesn’t look like he’ll feature for Heckingbottom’s side this weekend.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Leeds fans in the Tavern will be disappointed that Hernandez could be unavailable for the clash with QPR, although they will be pleased that he will return to Elland Road once his wife has given birth to his second child.
