Leeds revolution: Signing this Championship winger would a massive stepback in Bielsa’s rebuild

The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been kept busy so far this summer.

Marco Bielsa has been on the lookout for recruits to add to his new look Leeds side. The Whites are on the hunt for a few new faces to push the club back to the Premier League. The latest name to be linked with a move the Yorkshire club is Brentford’s Florian Jozefzoon.

The Dutch winger has been subject to a £1.5 million bid from Derby County according to Sky Sports. The same report also states that Leeds are also keen on bringing on the former Ajax academy product. Jozefzoon joined Brentford  PSV Eindhoven in 2017 and only has one year left on his current deal.

The Breakdown

Marco Bielsa needs some attacking options for his new Leeds team. The club have been linked with a £11 million move for Matej Vydra, which would be a superb signing. Lewis Baker was another good move by the club but they should avoid any move for Jozefzoon.

The Dutch winger has spent a season and a half with the Bees but has never really turned into a prolific winger. He scored seven goals in 43 appearances last year and although he has good pace, Leeds could do a lot better. He’s a very quick winger but without much end product – something that won’t fit with Bielsa’s system. A move for someone like Marcus Maddison would present a much better piece of business for United.

With only a year left on his current deal, the Brentford winger seem like a cheap and low-risk signing but in truth, the money could be spent in much better ways.

Would you be happy with this signing Leeds fans?
