Here in the Transfer Tavern, Leeds fans are sick of seeing their beloved team stuck in the Championship as again this season, they will remain in the second division of English football.
Elland Road is filled with disappointment once more this season as, despite their strong start to the Championship early in this season, their team sits around mid-table. Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom admits that the playoffs are “out of reach” but work can still be done to make changes ahead of next season. If Leeds are serious about making a Premier League return in the near future, then Chelsea’s youth star Ethan Ampadu, valued at £4.50 million on Transfermarkt, should be an optimistic target they acquire on loan.
The 17-year-old has already made his debut for the Welsh national team and looks to have the makings of a top defensive midfielder. He has played in seven games for the Chelsea first team this season, given the chance to impress by Antonio Conte in the domestic cup competitions. The Peacocks have hardly given a glimmer of hope to their fans but bringing in one of the most highly rated talents right now in world football would send a statement to their fans and the rest of the league that they mean business next season.
Having watched Ampadu on a few occasions, the young prodigy seems to have what it takes to succeed at Chelsea. The Welsh international can play as a centre-back or just in front as a defensive midfielder, either he is comfortable with and can play there to the best of his ability. Despite his young age, that shouldn’t matter because although Ampadu is 17, he has enough quality to be a key player for Leeds next season.
