Leeds should gamble on this 11-goal South American gem to fire them to promotion

Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their side kicking on now that they have a new manager in place at last.

Indeed, the men from Elland Road took their sweet time in appointing a new boss to replace Garry Monk with many of their fans really starting to panic.

However, they have appointed Thomas Christiansen and now the onus is on him to bring in players to finally get the team back in the top flight.

For sure, then, that is where the fans want to be and after speaking to the local Whites punters we reckon what the former APOEL manager needs to bring in is a player who can score goals from midfield.

Time then, we think, for the club to gamble on talented attacking midfielder Gaston Pereiro who currently plays for PSV in the Eredivisie.

Indeed, the young Uruguayan can play down either flank or in behind a main striker and certainly knows where the goal is with him rattling home 11 goals in the Dutch top flight last year.

For sure, then, that kind of return combined with the exploits of Chris Wood would surely get the club nearer the promotion chase this season coming and, best of all, he’s not going to break the bank.

Indeed, Transfermarkt has him valued at a reasonable £6.38m and we think if Leeds could bring him in for around that price they’d certainly be tying up one of the steals of the summer.
