Leeds should launch a move for Man United’s Andreas Pereira

Leeds United currently find themselves leading the way in the race for the Championship title, having defied expectations under Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites won’t accept anything less than promotion to the top-flight of English football having worked so hard to get into their promising position, with a couple of January transfer window moves possibly helping their cause.

Indeed, the Yorkshire club have secured a number of impressive transfers in recent years, but one that stands out is the signing of Kemar Roofe. The Englishman joined Leeds United for around £3 million back in 2016.

It’s safe to say that the forward is currently Leeds’ most valuable player as he continues to spearhead their push for promotion to the Premier League, with 14 goals to his name at this moment in time. He has firmly established himself as a fan favourite at Elland Road, and the £3 million fee has proved to be an absolute bargain.

Importantly, there’s still plenty of time left for the Whites to secure another gem signing, similar to Roofe’s capture, in the January transfer window.

One man whose future is currently surrounded with doubt is Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira. He has struggled to secure many minutes at Old Trafford in the current campaign, which has opened the door for him to secure a loan move away at some point this month.

The Brazilian has plenty of potential and has already shown that he can deliver world-class performances from his time at Valencia and Granada, with moments of brilliance also shining through in Manchester. And, with his contract set to run out in 12 months, perhaps Andrea Radrizzani could work towards making a potential loan deal permanent if they manage to secure promotion.

Pereira would inevitably be the final ingredient needed to secure promotion to the Premier League in the current campaign, and he may even make a bigger impact than Roofe has this season if he performs at the top of his game. And, with Samu Saiz currently out on loan and Ezgjan Alisoki struggling for consistency, his versatility could prove priceless as he’s able to operate in an attacking midfield role or out wide.
