Leeds United suffered a third successive loss this afternoon as they were seen off by QPR in the third round of the FA Cup.
Some cracks have just started to appear in Marcelo Bielsa’s team of late, and a big January awaits the club if they are to keep up their intensity at the top of the table and win their place back in the Premier League.
The Whites and manager Bielsa will no doubt be hoping for a few quality additions during the window, and while money will not be splashed about too much one would assume, there is scope for Leeds to make some improvements to the squad.
And one man we here in the Tavern feel would be a superb signing is Doncaster Rovers striker John Marquis, who has once again been in superb form for the League One side this term.
Marquis already has 15 goals to his name and bagged for Rovers as they saw off Preston North End to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup today.
His game is seemingly improving all the time, and a step up to the Championship is not something which will particularly phase the strike ace.
A move to Leeds would make a lot of sense for Marquis. He wouldn’t have to move too far given his stay in Yorkshire already, and this would play a big part in allowing Marquis to settle in early.
Leeds could do with another goalscorer to ease the pressure on the likes of Roofe and Bamford, and Marquis could well prove to be a no risk signing if they do fancy taking a punt on a League One star.
Leeds fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
